first impressions and permissions
♔ First Impressions
⚜ VISUAL: Jeremy is a kinda tall, lanky loser. Imagine that one awkward kid from the card shop who awkwardly looms over people and looks like he could use a sandwich or two. He radiates loser, don't let the Eminem shirt he's wearing fool you, and he used to slouch a lot, but now he mostly stands up straight-ish. The -ish is because Jeremy could never and will never be straight.
⚜ FASHION: He's going to show up wearing this, for better or worse. Mostly he prefers graphic tees and jeans, but also it's a murdergame. Sometimes you just have to wear what you're given and not complain about it. Will he try for more regular clothes? Yes. Will he probably end up wearing a space costume Christine handed him? Also yes.
⚜ DEMEANOUR: Jeremy's a nervous wreck. Like, not Evan "can't speak a full sentence or you're ooc" Hansen levels of nervous wreck but enough of a nervous wreck that it's noticeably different when he's Cool and Collected because he got his shit together for five second. Also he's going to have to look down at half the characters in this game and I'm so sorry that he's probably going to be weird about it.
⚜ SOUND: Have a listen. Or just imagine like a super typical high school nerd from the 80s and you're probably 70% right honestly.
⚜ SCENT: Teenage boy. He just smells like sweaty teenage boy, because he is a sweaty teenage boy.

⚜ FOURTHWALLING: It's fine if it's not direct! As in general knowledge of Squips or the book is fine, but not direct "you're fictional!" because that can get weird fast and also Jeremy is such a nervous wreck he wouldn't handle it well.
⚜ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Jeremy will probably expire on the spot, honestly. Especially if it's a girl. Actually mostly if it's a girl because Michael has immunized Jeremy against friendly bro touching.
⚜ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Jeremy's a weak noodle please don't try to fight him. He's baby.
⚜ RELATIONSHIPS: I almost wrote "for once I'm playing a character who would" but then I remembered Christine is here and Jeremy is mmmmmaybe obsessed with her. RIP in fuck me. One day I'll manage.

⚜ DEPRESSION: Sometimes you're just a sad boy who has undiagnosed depression complicated by your anxiety. I can avoid it by toning it down, but not entirely! So just LMK if you need me to work around this at all.
⚜ SUICIDE: This is completely avoidable, because it's not related to Jeremy! But he might mention that time his classmate uhhhhh tried to kill himself? He may have also set a house on fire. Or fled to Bombay. Unclear. What I'm saying is that the topic is canonically not handled very well so I can straight up avoid it if you want.
⚜ SQUIP SHIT: Be More Chill is a musical about trying to fix your brain worms by installing a supercomputer into your brain to override your instincts. Or, in the words of canon, so "[you]’d never have to not know anything again." Basically it's mind control, dehumanization, loss of bodily autonomy - you catch the drift, right? It's not 100% avoidable, but Jeremy can just mostly avoid it or skirt around the issue when necessary.
